Mandan, ND is the place to be on July 4th, however, long lines of traffic and available parking can be a real challenge for many. The Mandan Parade Committee is providing free busing to and from Mandan on July 4th. Busing runs continuously from 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Simply catch a bus at Bismarck State College at the lot north of the Jack Science Center State Bank of North Dakota or the Bismarck Elks in Bismarck. You can also park your car at the Mandan Middle School (north side of Mandan at the Sunset exit) and ride in comfort to your favorite spot along Main Street. Lawn chairs and other essentials are allowed on the bus.
The Mandan Independence Day Parade has a rich history dating back to 1881. The 2016 event starts with a 5k Road Race at 8:00 a.m., the Street Festival at 8:15 a.m. including local musicians, DJs and Mickey and Friends, the Diva Dash Stiletto Run at 9:00 a.m., the Classic Car Parade at 10:30 a.m. and the Grand Parade starting at 10:40 a.m. on the "Strip."
