Welcome to the 2024 Mandan Independence Day Parade!

 

This year, we celebrate "Happy Birthday America" with an event that has been a cornerstone of our community since 1881. Presented by Mandan Automotive Chevrolet and Subaru, our parade has grown to be the largest in North Dakota, drawing families from near and far to partake in a tradition that is as old as our city itself.

 

Our parade's history is rich, with a legacy that dates back to a time when the band formed in front of Liberty Hall and marched to the schoolhouse, gathering citizens on foot and on horseback to form a large, enthusiastic procession. This tradition has continued year after year, with each parade marking a celebration of our nation's freedom and a testament to the patriotism that runs deep in our community.

 

As part of the Mandan Rodeo Days, our parade is not just a celebration of independence but also a reflection of our city's colorful history and the values we hold dear. We are proud to have been recognized as a national finalist for "Most Patriotic City" and to have received the governor's award for North Dakota Tourism Event of the Year.

 

We invite you to join us in saluting our active military, veterans, and all those serving in law enforcement, fire protection, and emergency medical services. Their dedication keeps us safe and free, and we are grateful for their service.

 

This year's parade promises to be a memorable event, with exciting floats, bands, and community groups all coming together to celebrate America's birthday. We encourage you to take part in the fun, enjoy the festivities, and help us keep Mandan clean and safe by respecting our neighborhoods and disposing of trash and fireworks debris responsibly.
