Mandan, ND is the place to be on July 4th, however, long lines of traffic and available parking can be a real challenge for many. The Mandan Parade Committee is providing free busing, to and from Mandan, from convenient locations in Bismarck on July 4th. Buses run continuously from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Simply catch a bus at Bismarck State College, at the lot north of the Jack Science Center State Bank of North Dakota or the Bismarck Elks in Bismarck. Lawn chairs and other essentials are allowed on the bus. Buses will drop off and pickup along 1st street in Mandan.
The Mandan Independence Day Parade has a rich history dating back to 1881. The 2017 event starts with a 5k Road Race at 8:00 a.m., the Street Festival, including local musicians, DJs and Mickey and Friends, begins at 8:15 a.m., the Diva Dash Stiletto Run at 9:00 a.m., the Classic Car Parade at 10:00 a.m. and the Grand Parade commences precisely at 10:05 a.m. on the "Strip."
