Participation Guide

Anyone person, business or group can enter the parade.  All
registrations must be filled out on the website at
Mandan Parade Registration.  The cost is $35 per entry (a late fee of $25 for
all entries received after June 1st, no exceptions).  Send your
registration fee to Mandan Parade, 411 Main Street West, Mandan, ND 58554.

We expect all participants to decorate their vehicles.  The theme for
2010 is " Groovin' back to the 70's".  You can either decorate for
the theme or decorate for Independence Day.

You are allowed to hand out candy, promotional items etc.  YOU CANNOT
THROW ANYTHING FROM A MOTORIZED VEHICLE!  Have walkers hand items to the
crowd.  This is our #1 safety concern as children run into the street
chasing candy.  Most parades across the country have banned this
practice and we want to follow this trend.  Please obey this rule
and help keep our children safe.

Be prepared for the weather.  Generally it is warm so be prepared by
having beverages with you along the route.  If you are walking, the unit
ahead or behind you may be able to carry your items.  Also, wear good,
comfortable walking shoes.

Be patient during staging.  Yes, it will look like CHAOS as we are
staging over 5,000 people and their floats, cars, trucks etc. but it
does all come together and starts ON TIME. We are all here to have fun.
If you feel you need a little extra time to get ready, report to the
staging area early.

All numbers, staging areas, etc. will be emailed to you.  Please print
these numbers and hand them out to anyone who will be in the staging
area.  This includes anyone who may just be dropping off parade
participants.  This will make traffic move substantially faster.  Also,
all other correspondence will be sent to the email address you provide.
As of 2009, nothing will be sent via Postal Service.
